Who we are

Philip, founder of Comen Strategy, provides companies of all sizes with professional guidance to expand their brand reach, realize sustainable growth, improve operational efficiencies, and amplify their impact.

His journey began at 14, working the floor of a Vermont outdoor store. Since then, he’s built a career in retail and wholesale, leading sales, marketing, and service initiatives across the outdoor, food, and apparel industries. He’s supported both small businesses and national names like Patagonia—always with an eye on long-term resilience, not just short-term gain. He is proud of his work to support family businesses while also growing brands that focus on more than just their bottom line.

Philip’s approach is holistic and collaborative, rooted in understanding the full business ecosystem: from finance and sales to merchandising, HR, and operations. He uses data to guide strategic decisions, improve budgeting, and support the natural cycles of seasonal businesses.

His clients trust him not just for his expertise, but for his dedication. He’s more than a consultant—he’s a true partner in the process of building a business that thrives financially, supports its people, and contributes meaningfully to its community.

Inspired by Aspen Roots

At Comen Strategy, the aspen tree isn’t just a logo—it’s a symbol of how I approach business. Aspens thrive through connection; beneath the surface, they share a root system that supports the entire grove. They’re often the first to grow back after a fire, showing resilience and renewal.

And like great businesses, they don’t rely on just one way to grow—aspens adapt, spreading both through seed and shared strength. I bring the same philosophy to my work: grounded, connected, and built for lasting, regenerative success.
